Nautor Swan has spent six decades building performance sailing yachts. The Swan Alloy 44 moves that tradition into a larger aluminium platform: at 43.5 metres, it is the Finnish builder’s largest yacht to date and the first model in its new Alloy range. Construction is underway, with launch and delivery scheduled for 2028.

Swan Alloy 44: A New Scale for Nautor Swan

Designed by naval architect Malcolm McKeon, the Swan Alloy 44 combines a slender profile with aluminium construction and a telescopic keel. Its draft can vary from 4.30 to 6.30 metres, giving the yacht greater flexibility between open-water sailing and access to shallower cruising areas.

The hull and deck are being built at Gouwerok Shipyard in the Netherlands before the yacht moves to Viareggio for final outfitting. The project has an estimated 299 GT and a 9.45-metre beam.

Inside Swan's New Sailing Superyacht

Studio Liaigre is responsible for the interiors, with the layout centred on the relationship between indoor and outdoor spaces. Large glazed areas bring daylight deeper into the living spaces, while the upper deck is designed around direct contact with the sea and the sailing environment.

The Alloy 44 is the first step in a broader programme. Following its Monaco Yacht Show presentation, Nautor Swan revealed the planned Alloy 50 and a 60-metre ketch concept, extending the aluminium range beyond a single model.

For owners accustomed to Swan’s smaller sailing yachts, the proposition is straightforward: retain the emphasis on sailing while adding the volume, range of spaces and cruising flexibility associated with a 40-metre-plus yacht.
