Jaeger-LeCoultre Turns the Reverso Into a Miniature Turner

Jaeger-LeCoultre has turned the reversible case of the Reverso into a miniature art surface with the new Reverso Tribute Enamel Turner Series, four limited-edition watches inspired by J.M.W. Turner’s paintings of Venice. The series was introduced on 28 August 2026 ahead of its presentation at Homo Faber in Venice.

Each watch uses the front dial for timekeeping and the reverse for a hand-painted reproduction of a Turner work. The four references are Q39334W1, inspired by Venice, the Dogana and San Giorgio Maggiore (1834); Q39334W2, based on Venice, from the Porch of Madonna della Salute (1835); Q39334W3, after Bridge of Sighs, Ducal Palace & Customhouse (1833); and Q39334W4, based on Venice, the Bridge of Sighs (1840).

Each reference is limited to 10 pieces, making 40 watches across the series. The 18-carat white-gold cases measure 45.6 by 27.4 mm and house Jaeger-LeCoultre's manually wound Calibre 822, with hours and minutes and a 42-hour power reserve. The price is available on request.

The miniature paintings occupy a surface of roughly 2 cm². Jaeger-LeCoultre says each requires at least 14 layers of enamel, with every layer fired at 800°C, for 80 hours of miniature painting. The dials combine hand-guilloché with translucent Grand Feu enamel, while silver paillons are used beneath the enamel to reproduce the changing reflections of Venetian water.

The result makes the Reverso's original two-sided construction relevant to the artwork itself: turning the case reveals a second composition rather than simply a decorative caseback.
