The renovation project of the Centre Pompidou led by architecture studios Moreau Kusunoki and Frida Escobedo, in collaboration with French studio AIA Life Designers, promises to redefine the cultural and communal landscape of Paris. The design focuses on reinforcing visual porosity and enhancing physical connections among various sections, transforming the space to cater to diverse audiences, including young people. The architects aim to honor the original vision of the Centre Pompidou, blending social utopia with modern architectural innovation, creating a dynamic, evolving space that challenges traditional roles and expectations of cultural institutions.

Architecture studios Moreau Kusunoki and Frida Escobedo, in collaboration with French studio AIA Life Designers, have been actively refining their design for the significant upcoming renovations at the Centre Pompidou.
The studios, leading the design efforts, will focus on reinforcing—and revisiting—the project's initial objective of ensuring visual porosity and physical connections among its various sections and activities. The renovation aims to transform the existing space into cultural and communal areas suitable for a diverse range of audiences, including young people, as highlighted in the announcement.
“We aspire to an architecture in tune with the times, which respects the generous values and the innovative and ambitious concepts of the original vision: the social utopia of a cultural centre in perfect continuity with the city, “an open place, for people, intended for meetings and contact", a hybrid organization in constant evolution, constantly questioning, through their coexistence, the role and codes of museums, libraries, the performing arts and the visual arts as well as the expectations of the different audiences who frequent, compose and animate the Center Pompidou.” — Moreau Kusunoki
