Aman Seoul: 49 Branded Residences Coming to Cheongdam

Aman will make its South Korean debut in Cheongdam with Aman Seoul, a 70,000-square-metre mixed-use development combining a hotel, 49 residences, an Aman Club and wellness facilities.

Aman is coming to Seoul for the first time, with Aman Seoul planned for Cheongdam-dong in Gangnam. Announced on 2 September by Aman and Shinsegae Property, the project will combine a hotel, 49 Aman Seoul residences, an Aman Club, wellness facilities, dining, retail and cultural space.

The development is planned for the former Prima Hotel site at 52-3 and 52-7 Cheongdam-dong. It will comprise approximately 70,000 sq m, with 38 floors above ground and eight basement levels. Shinsegae Property is leading planning and development, while Aman is participating in architecture, design and operations. After completion, Aman is expected to manage the hotel, residences and club under a long-term arrangement.

For residents, the distinction is in how the complex is organised. Hotel guests, homeowners and Aman Club members are planned to have separate arrival and access arrangements, creating different circulation routes within the building. The residential component will sit alongside an Aman Club with a members-only pool, fitness centre and lounge, while spa and wellness facilities, dining and cultural spaces form part of the wider development.

The location also informs the design concept. Aman says its Aman Seoul residences draw on Cheongdam's historical association with Cheongsutgol, or “the place of peaceful clear waters”, while the interiors are described as combining contemporary Korean references with Aman's restrained design language.

Aman Seoul remains an announced development rather than a completed residence. Pricing, individual residence sizes and a confirmed opening date have not been publicly established by Aman. Some Korean reports point to 2029–2030, but those dates should be treated as provisional rather than confirmed.
