Equinox Resort AMAALA Opens: Inside Saudi Arabia’s New Performance-Led Resort

Equinox Resort AMAALA opened on 3 September in Triple Bay, Saudi Arabia, bringing the fitness brand’s performance-led hotel concept to its first destination outside the United States.

Equinox Resort AMAALA is the brand’s second hotel globally and its first outside the US. At Marina Village in Triple Bay, the adults-only resort has 128 rooms and suites, including two penthouses, alongside 21 branded residences. Architecture is by Foster + Partners, with interiors by Rockwell Group.

The distinction is most apparent in the fitness and recovery facilities. The Club occupies 704 sq m of indoor and outdoor training space, with strength and cardio areas, Pilates and group-exercise studios, an outdoor fitness pavilion and a courtyard training platform. Resort guests have access to the club, with personal training, Tier X coaching and scheduled classes.

Recovery is built into the stay rather than confined to conventional spa treatments. The 1,602 sq m spa has seven treatment rooms and a circuit incorporating hydrotherapy, infrared sauna, contrast treatments and cryotherapy. The Spa Grotto includes hydrotherapy pools, a cold plunge, whirlpool, steam room and infrared sauna, while the rooftop EQX Magnesium Pool provides an additional recovery space.

Rooms range from 45 sq m Core Rooms to 181–182 sq m penthouse suites. In-room features include sound insulation, circadian lighting, a dedicated wellness kit and a curated RoomBar.

Dining spans five venues, including SoHo Souk, Sama Ai, Mint + Co, EQX Den and the EQX Magnesium Pool. Chef Akrame oversees the culinary programme.
