Anantara Siam Bangkok Reopens After a $50 Million Transformation

Anantara Siam Bangkok has completed a US$50 million transformation, updating rooms, suites, public spaces and dining while retaining the architectural and artistic elements that have defined the Ratchadamri hotel since 1983.

Anantara Siam Bangkok has reopened following a US$50 million transformation carried out in two phases between 2025 and September 2026. The hotel, originally opened in 1983 and designed by architect George Wimberley, retains its hand-painted murals, Thai decorative details and garden courtyards while introducing redesigned accommodation and public spaces.

The 335-room property sits on Ratchadamri Road beside the Royal Bangkok Sports Club, with the BTS Skytrain within walking distance. Its renewed accommodation includes 42-square-metre Deluxe and Siam Rooms, while suites range from 72-square-metre Siam Suites to the 675-square-metre Penthouse and an 810-square-metre Anantara Pool Residence.

The transformation covered the Montathip and Kannika Court rooms, Garden Terrace Rooms, Kasara Lounge, pool and terrace, Garden Pool Villas, Parichart Court rooms, lobby and ballroom. The Spice Market restaurant was also redesigned during the second phase.

Dining remains a significant part of the address, with Spice Market serving regional Thai cuisine and Biscotti focused on Italian cooking. Anantara Spa operates daily from 10am to 10pm, with Thai and Asian treatments alongside movement and wellness programmes.

For travellers choosing among established luxury hotels in Bangkok, the appeal is now less about novelty than continuity: Anantara Siam Bangkok has updated its rooms and infrastructure without removing the murals, teak detailing, gardens and Thai visual language that distinguish the property from newer city hotels.
