Amanolu Maldives will be Aman’s first resort in the Maldives, with a 52-key property, 16 private-island residences and separate islands for wellness and recreation, scheduled to open in Vaavu Atoll in 2028.
Amanolu Maldives: What We Know
Aman has named Amanolu as its first destination in the Maldives. The resort is planned for Vaavu Atoll and is scheduled to open in 2028; no exact opening date has been announced. The project will comprise 52 keys, alongside 16 fully serviced Aman Residences.
Designed by Kerry Hill Architects (KHA), the project is organised across several islands rather than concentrating all facilities on a single resort site. Aman is planning a dedicated wellness island with an Aman Spa and Spa Houses, plus a separate activity island focused on diving, snorkelling, watersports and marine activities.
The Private-Island Residences
The 16 Aman Residences are the clearest distinction within the project. Each five-bedroom residence will occupy its own private island, with indoor and outdoor living areas, a private beach, a 25-metre swimming pool, dedicated staff accommodation and a personal berth. Some islands are oriented towards sunrise or sunset, while others have beaches on both sides.
Wellness and Activities at Amanolu
The separation of accommodation, wellness and recreation gives Amanolu a different spatial model from a conventional single-island resort. Details of the restaurants and bars have not yet been released, and rates and transfer arrangements have not been announced. For now, 2028 is the confirmed opening year, rather than a specific month.
