Mykonos: Ibiza with a Greek Accent

Mykonos: Ibiza with a Greek Accent

By Simon Gusev

One of the most famous Greek islands, Mykonos is a heaven on Earth for the wide range of audiences, from casual party-goers to sophisticated elite who prefers upscale leisure time.

With all its stunning beaches, original architectural style, crazy nightlife, fashionable restaurants, and Bohemian crowd, the island breathes a very special, unique, and positive atmosphere. Besides, Mykonos is probably the most cosmopolitan island of Greece, rightfully considered its "party" capital. It is here that Greece's famous personalities and world stars prefer to spend their summer holidays. So, you may be lucky enough to take a swim in the sea with a famous Hollywood actor or sunbathe next to a popular singer, dine in the same restaurant with a glamorous fashion designer or dance your night off to the music sets by the most renowned DJs on the planet.

The island of Mykonos or the Greek Ibiza is a perfect place for those who love active and fun holidays that charge you with unforgettable emotions for years to come.

How to Get There?

Since there are many direct flights from major European airports to Mykonos International Airport, you can grab a plane from your hometown. However, if there is no access from your local airport, you can transfer at Athens International Airport or Thessaloniki Airport for a sweet short trip to the island. Alternatively, you can hop on the ferry ride from one of the two Athenian ports – Piraeus and Rafina. But bear in mind, the trip by ferry usually lasts from 3 to 5 hours depending on whether your ferry is a normal or a high speed one. If you are already in Greece, chilling on one of its picturesque islands like Santorini, Paros, Naxos or any other one, you can also reach Mykonos by ferry in no time.
