Chaired by H.R.H. Prince Albert II, the 73rd Monaco Red Cross Ball takes place on Friday 18th July 2022 on the prestigious Casino square for the second time since its creation.

This evening highlights the Monaco Red Cross' daily work for the most vulnerable people, an ongoing work to support those in need over the past 73 years. It pays tribute to sponsors of the Monaco Red Cross whose generosity helps prevent and ease the suffering of those most vulnerable in society.

Celebration of 40 years as President of the Monaco Red Cross by H.S.H Prince Albert II (1982-2022)

The history of the Monaco Red Cross is intricately linked to the Prince’s Family. Created on 3rd March1948 by Prince Louis II, the Monaco Red Cross was recognised in the same year by the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) and admitted to the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC). It is one of the 190 National Societies belonging to the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement and respects the seven fundamental principles thereof. The Monaco Red Cross was presided over successively by Prince Rainier III from 1949 to 1958, followed by Princess Grace from 1958 to 1982. Since 17th December 1982, it has been presided over by H.S.H. Prince Albert II.

During his 40-year Presidency, H.S.H. the Sovereign Prince has ensured that the Monaco Red Cross plays an active role, both nationally and internationally, within the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Throughout the last 40 years, H.S.H. Prince Albert II has been personally committed to ensuring the proper functioning of the CRM. The President has also been able to count on the support of his family, especially H.S.H. Princess Charlene, Vice-President of the CRM, as well as the Members of the Board, employees, and volunteers, always ready to do what it takes, together with him, to make sure the projects launched by the National Society are implemented successfully.

The performance and the work of art

Monaco Red Cross donors shall be welcomed from 7:30 pm at the cocktail buffet served on the Terrasses du Soleil, between the majestic façade of Opéra Garnier Monte-Carlo and the Mediterranean Sea.

Adriana Karembeu and Imany will present the actions of the Monaco Red Cross for the year 2022, as well as the raffle with five prestigious prizes. The participants and donators then return to their seats at 10pm, joined by the entire concert audience.

After the presentation of a film on its actions throughout 2022, the Monaco Red Cross will welcome this year the exceptional Alicia Keys for a concert during which she will perform her new compositions but also give life to her classics, ranging from "No One" to "If I Ain't Got You" via "Girl on Fire". Pianist, songwriter, the American singer is only 41 and yet she seems to have lived many lives. 21 years after his first album, Songs in A Minor, which sold 12 million copies worldwide, and his famous song "Fallin", the prodigy is back with a new album, ALICIA.

For this 73rd Monaco Red Cross Gala, the Monegasque artist Philippe Pastor offers one of his works: "Les Arbres Brûlés". Committed to environment, Philippe Pastor has developed through his work a personalized vision of Nature, translating Man’s interaction with the planet. Using living matter, its transformation through time and immediate surroundings, combining soil, pigments, minerals and plants of all kinds, Philippe Pastor represents his vision of life, environmental destruction and Man’s involvement in society.
