The 2024 Rolex Monte-Carlo Masters, a prestigious event in the ATP Masters 1000 series, showcased spectacular tennis at the scenic Monte-Carlo Country Club. Stefanos Tsitsipas clinched his third title at this event with a decisive straight-set victory over Casper Ruud, reinforcing his reputation as a dominant force on clay courts.

Throughout the tournament, Tsitsipas demonstrated exceptional skill, overcoming top-tier opponents like Alexander Zverev and Jannik Sinner, and culminating in a thrilling 6-1, 6-4 final against Ruud. This victory not only secured him another Monte-Carlo Masters trophy but also boosted him to World No. 7 in the ATP rankings.

The atmosphere of the tournament was elevated by the presence of royalty and celebrities, including Prince Albert II, highlighting the event's high profile and luxury setting. This illustrious audience underscored the tournament's importance and added to the glamorous Monte-Carlo experience.

Emirates played a pivotal role as a principal partner of the ATP Tour, providing exceptional hospitality and viewing experiences from their luxury lounge and premium viewing box. Cédric Renard, the Director of Emirates France, emphasized the airline's commitment to supporting sports and enhancing local sporting events, which was evident in their active engagement throughout the tournament.

Additionally, the return of the Emirates A380 to Nice Côte d'Azur International Airport was a highlight, marking 30 years of Emirates operations in Nice. This return promises greater travel choices and improved connectivity to Dubai and beyond, highlighting Emirates' ongoing impact on regional travel and commerce.

iPremium & iTravel Magazine had the exclusive opportunity to sit down with Cédric Renard, the Director of Emirates France, to discuss the airline's vision, its monumental contributions to global aviation, and the strategic role that France plays in its impressive tapestry of destinations.

Emirates' involvement reached a crescendo during Thursday's match, where promotional activities included Khachanov launching tennis balls into the stands, symbolizing Emirates' significant influence. The screens featured the new A380 cabin interiors and inspiring travel videos, tying back to the luxurious and expansive nature of both the tournament and Emirates' services.

iPremium & iTravel Magazine: Emirates has been a significant player in global aviation, especially with your recent developments. Could you share more about Emirates' current operations in France?

Cédric Renard: Emirates has a strong commitment to France, operating 35 weekly flights, including our celebrated A380 service to Nice. We're not just connecting travelers to over 130 destinations via Dubai; we're facilitating important cultural and economic exchanges. As travel demands increase, we are eager to expand our services, like our recent route launch to Bogota and resumptions to PNH and Adelaide. France is integral to our network and we're excited to continue growing this connection.

iPremium & iTravel Magazine: Speaking of connections, Emirates is renowned for its involvement in sports sponsorships. What can you tell us about this strategy?

Cédric Renard: Sports bring people together, and through our sponsorships, we forge deep connections with communities. Our engagement ranges from football with Olympique Lyonnais to cycling with UAE Team Emirates, and extends to a global partnership with the NBA. We're especially proud of our presence at Roland-Garros, a relationship that will continue until at least 2027. These partnerships are more than brand visibility; they are about shared experiences and values.

iPremium & iTravel Magazine: And as global awareness around environmental issues grows, how is Emirates addressing sustainability?

Cédric Renard: Our approach to sustainability is comprehensive, with a focus on reducing emissions and responsible consumption. We've incorporated sustainable aviation fuels in our operations, with flights from Paris, Lyon, and Oslo utilizing SAF. Collaborations like The Solent Cluster in the UK underscore our dedication to this cause. These initiatives are part of our broader commitment to a sustainable future.

iPremium & iTravel Magazine: With such a wide-reaching impact, what does the future hold for Emirates in France?

Cédric Renard: The future is promising. France is a strategic market for Emirates, and we'll continue to meet our customers' needs through enhanced services and capacity, especially during peak periods. We believe in the power of connection, and we look forward to another 30 years of making these connections possible.
