Dinesen is Denmark’s leading manufacturer of exclusive wooden flooring. The family-owned company was founded in 1898 as a sawmill with the highest standards for quality wood. Today, five generations later, Dinesen is a recognised and prestigious production and design brand.
In 2023, Dinesen celebrated its 125th anniversary, a passion for wood that began in 1898.
Nestled in Rungsted, Denmark, this newly built two-story villa serves as the home for Dinesen's Head of Marketing Regitze Bøegh-Beyerholm, her husband, and their two children. Thoughtfully designed to blend with its environment, the house's shape maximises sunlight exposure and scenic views, while its flat roof supports solar panels for sustainable energy use.

Just a few hundred metres from the Øresund, the villa is conveniently located near a small path that leads to the water, allowing the family to share a bathing pier with their neighbours. This proximity to the ocean makes daily trips to the sea an enriching part of their routine. The exterior of the villa features modern terracotta bricks that exude warmth and charm. A warm welcome awaits at the front door, made of Dinesen oak, which opens into a hallway highlighted by oak steps. The rich use of wood continues throughout the home, showcasing Dinesen’s signature HeartOak, complete with butterfly joints. Large sliding doors crafted from Dinesen oak seamlessly separate the dining and living areas, contributing to the home’s inviting ambience.

Unlike the typical trend of open-plan living, the family intentionally created distinct zones within the house. This design fosters intimacy, allowing for a variety of activities in everyday life and during gatherings with guests. Each room flows into the next while maintaining its own unique atmosphere, enhanced by careful consideration of natural light that fills the interiors, resulting in bright welcoming spaces free from glare.
A standout element of the project was the involvement of Bøegh-Beyerholm’s brother, Tue Hesselberg Foged, a founding partner of the architecture firm EFFEKT. His collaboration in the design process helped transform the project and bring their dream home to life. The villa is not only visually striking but also energy-efficient, featuring solar panels with battery storage and geothermal heating. This combination of beauty and sustainability makes it an exemplary modern family home.
